The minutes of the 52nd Annual General Meeting were approved as a true and complete record.<\/p>\n

Lucy McCann presented her report as Chair. She commented on the success of the 2014 Annual Conference and the special issue of ARD based upon it. ARD would be published in two issues p.a. from 2015 but with no reduction in overall content. Special thanks were due to our printers Doppler for their continued high quality work and co-operation. The SCOLMA book, African Studies in the Digital <\/i>Age, had been launched at the ASAUK Conference at Brighton, and had already attracted some favourable reviews. SCOLMA had continued its usual activities, including regular involvement with ELIAS and ASAUK, holding seminars and maintaining its website. Committee members were thanked for their contributions and enthusiasm, especially David Clover and Helen Rehin, who were retiring from the committee, and Ian Cooke who had made an exceptional contribution as Treasurer and in other committee roles.<\/p>\n\u00a03. Financial statement and approval of audited accounts<\/b><\/h3>\n
Ian Cooke presented the audited accounts for 2014.\u00a0 He noted that, although most of SCOLMA\u2019s income came through ARD, the annual conference was making an increasing contribution.<\/p>\n
The approval of the accounts was proposed by Marion Wallace, seconded by Terry Barringer and passed unanimously. Peter Westley was reappointed as auditor, proposed John Pinfold, Robertson, seconded Mandy Banton and agreed unanimously.<\/p>\n
Ian said how much he had enjoyed his involvement with SCOLMA, which had lasted longer than any job he had held. SCOLMA was an outstandingly energetic and friendly group and he would keep in touch although his new post as Head of Contemporary British Publications at the British Library would not allow him so much time to pursue Africanist interests.<\/p>\n
